🔼 Eye On The Prize. This Sunday, Nick Hampton has the opportunity to join an exclusive club in App State Football history.
Hampton, who registered a tackle in Sunday’s Divisional Round win in Chicago last weekend, will be lacing them up as the Los Angeles Rams travel to Seattle for the NFC Championship game.
With a victory against the Seahawks, Hampton would become the sixth member of the #AppStateNFL club to reach the Super Bowl.
Kickoff on Sunday is set for 6:30 pm EST.
🔼 Country’s Finest. Senior Makayla McClain is ready for one last run.
McClain and her App State Softball teammates are set for the season opener, which is just 16 days away at the UNCW Tournament.
This week, the Liberty, N.C., native was ranked as the country’s 23rd-best mid-major player according to D1Softball.
In her first season with the Mountaineers last year, she earned First Team All-Sun Belt accolades after setting a program record for runs scored with 55 and is just one of three players in program history to hit 14 or more HRs in a season.
🔼 Turning The Corner. As Sun Belt conference play approaches the midway point, the always competitive league standings are once again a logjam.
Both App State hoops program have critical conference matchups over the next two nights.
The women head to Texas State, who sits just two games up on the Mountaineers, for a midweek showdown tonight at 8 pm EST. Tomorrow night, the men return to the Holmes Convocation Center for a battle with Louisiana (6:30 pm EST), who sits just a game behind App State in the league standings.
As we mentioned, if the Los Angeles Rams win in Seattle on Sunday, Nick Hampton would become the eighth player in App State history to reach the Super Bowl.
