🔼 Hittin’ The Road. The miles will be piled up this week for the Mountaineers with six squads hitting the road for matchups.
The tennis team kicks things off tomorrow as they open play at the ITA South Atlantic Regionals in Columbia, S.C., which will run until Tuesday, Oct. 20.
Tomorrow night, App State Volleyball opens a critical back-to-back at James Madison as both teams vie to stay at the top of the Sun Belt East Division standings.
Friday, the cross country squads hit the course at the Arturos Barrios Invitational in College Station beginning with the men at 9:15 a.m. and the women at 9:50 a.m.
Soccer will be in action Friday evening in a 5 p.m. at Arkansas State before Football caps off the busy week at 8 p.m. on ESPN2 at Coastal Carolina.
🔼 Going Low. Led by fourth-place finisher Brody Tidwell, who set program records with a 13-under total of 65-69-66—200, App State Men's Golf placed fifth among 17 teams at the Elon Phoenix Invitational.
Playing on a par-71 layout at Alamance Country Club, Tidwell broke App State records for the lowest 54-hole totals, both in total strokes and score relative to par. Addison Beam posted an 11-under 202 at the same event in 2023, tying the program's previous 54-hole record that Sverrir Haraldsson had established on a par-71 layout during the 2022 Bash at Beach tournament.
🔼 Duuuuvalllll. Finishing just one shot out of a three-way tie for medalist honors, Zoe Duval tied for fourth place as App State Women's Golf took fifth out of 12 teams at the Terrier Intercollegiate.
The tournament on a par-72 layout at the Country Club of Spartanburg was shortened to 36 holes due to heavy weekend rains in the Carolinas, and Duval was part of a five-way tie at 1 over (72-73—145).
The Mountaineers finished at 27 over (303-300—603) to end up one stroke behind fourth-place Western Carolina and three strokes ahead of sixth place. ETSU won the team title at 12 over.
MeMe Davis enters this weekend leading the Sun Belt and ranking third in the country in total digs with 386.
