🔼 Friday Night Lights. App State Football is on the road tonight looking to get back on track when the Mountaineers face Coastal Carolina in a crucial Sun Belt Conference showdown at Brooks Stadium in Conway, S.C.

Tonight’s matchup will mark the 13th meeting between the programs and the 10th since Coastal Carolina joined the Sun Belt Conference in 2017. Three of the last five meetings have been decided by seven points or fewer, adding to the competitive nature of a rivalry that has become one of the Sun Belt's more entertaining matchups.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

🔼 Thursday Night Thriller. Nothing like a little drama for your Thursday night.

Chelsea Gilmore led App State Volleyball to a thrilling 3-2 victory (22-25, 27-25, 18-25, 26-24, 16-14) over Sun Belt Conference rival James Madison on Thursday night with a team-high 19.5 points.

Gilmore notched 11 kills on a .476 hitting percentage alongside four service aces and nine total blocks. Her net presence anchored a Mountaineers defense that recorded 12 total team blocks. Bella Hutchens led App State with 16 kills, while Charlotte Thompson added 14. Setter Raegan Richardson dished out 41 assists and chipped in nine digs. On defense, MeMe Davis grabbed a team-leading 10 digs.

Trailing 6-12 in the fifth set, App State sparked a pivotal five-point run to narrow the deficit before closing out the decisive frame 16-14 to complete the comeback.

🔼 Helping Hands. App State Athletics was awarded the 2025-26 SAAC Community Impact Award for the second consecutive academic year.

The award recognizes the athletic program and student-athletes that demonstrate a commitment to civic engagement and service within the local community, honoring those who go beyond competition to drive meaningful outreach initiatives and foster positive, lasting partnerships off the field.

Over the course of the 2025-26 academic year, Mountaineer student-athletes logged 2,062 community service hours. The efforts were highlighted by the women's basketball program's work with "A Bed and a Book," an initiative that provides local families in need with beds and books.

🔼 Next Challenge: Be A Road Warrior. Your App State Mountaineers are in the game, and you can be too in this week’s Mountaineer Mode Challenge.

Lifelong Mountaineers and brand-new fans alike can be closer to the action than ever before by playing as App State in the EA SPORTS College Football 27 video game and participating in weekly challenges for the chance to win fun prizes throughout the season, courtesy of App State Athletics.

The week three challenge is Road Warriors! Win a game on the road as the Mountaineers and submit your screenshot/video and contact information below to be entered to win this week’s prize. Submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, October 19.
