🔼 Down Go The Dukes. The celebration after James Madison's missed field goal to start overtime temporarily impaired James London's vision.
When called upon to end the nationally televised thriller with a kick of his own, he could feel immediately that it was pure coming off his right foot.
The rest, understandably, was a blur.
London's 40-yard field goal in OT lifted App State to a 34-31 victory over previously unbeaten JMU on Thursday night, sending fans from the sellout crowd of 33,322 at Kidd Brewer Stadium spilling onto the field.

🔼 Putting The W in Wednesday. With only two regular season matches left on the 2026 slate, App State Soccer is doing its best to make sure there’s more soccer to be played when those conclude next week.
On Wednesday night, the Mountaineers used a late first-half goal from Taylor Duff to even the score and a second-half brace from Libby Bermingham to soar past Southern Miss for a 3-1 victory.
App State dominated possession throughout the match, registering a 13-2 shot advantage and earning a season-high 17 corner kicks.
🔼 Leader Of Men. For his leadership, integrity, and sportsmanship on and off the field, App State Football linebacker Colton Phares has been named one of 20 semifinalists for the tenth annual Jason Witten Man of the Year Award.
The award, presented by Albertsons and Tom Thumb, is the first college football honor to focus primarily on a player's leadership, both on and off the field.
🔼 Martinson The Machine. For just the second time in program history, a Mountaineers earned his third Sun Belt Conference Runner of the Week accolade of the season as Noah Martinson was honored once again.
Martinson led the Mountaineers for the fourth time in as many meets as he broke the App State 8K record at the Arturo Barrios Invitational. His time of 23.17.4 broke the record by nearly 30 seconds and helped the team earn a second-place finish in a crowded field of 38 teams.
App State finished first among all Division I schools, beating out Texas A&M, Arizona State, Ohio State, TCU, Texas and Baylor.
Oliver Wilson-Crook was the only other Mountaineer to ever win three weekly accolades in the same season (2023).
🔼 Aloha Alisa. Led by a tie for ninth place from Alisa Pressley and a tie for 19th from Zoe Duval, App State Women's Golf took 11th as it closed its fall schedule Wednesday at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational hosted by Hawai'i.
Fourteen teams from 11 states and Japan competed over 54 holes on the Ocean Course at Hōkūala on Kauaʻi, home to the state's longest continuous stretch of oceanfront holes.
Pressley opened and closed the event with under-par rounds on the par-72 layout and finished with a 1-over total of 71-75-71—217.
