Good morning, Mountaineers. There’s nothing like Homecoming in the High Country!
What all do we have stirring in today’s Brew? Check it out below.
🏈 Return To The Rock
🏐 Monster Matchup
🎾 Weekend Work
🟡 And much more
🔼 Return To The Rock. No better way to step into Sun Belt Conference play than on Homecoming weekend, right?
That’s exactly what App State Football will do this weekend when it hosts Old Dominion in a Saturday afternoon showdown at Kidd Brewer Stadium.
The offense continues to shine for the Mountaineers, who are averaging 34.8 points and 464 yards per game through the first four weeks of the season.
Kickoff on ESPN+ is set for 1 p.m.
🔼 Monster Matchup. Entering this weekend, there are only two Sun Belt volleyball squads that sit at 4-0 in conference action and that pair will meet on back-to-back nights at Holmes Convocation Center starting tomorrow night.
App State, who has won six of its past seven matches, welcomes Georgia Southern in the battle of the unbeatens, which is set to get underway tomorrow night at 6 p.m.
MeMe Davis continues to anchor the defensive effort, currently sitting second in the country in total digs with 352, while Raegan Richardson is sixth nationally in both total assists (664) and triple-doubles (1).

🔼 Weekend Work. In its only home showing off the fall slate, App State Tennis put together a dominant display at Mountaineer Hidden Dual at the Jim & Elaine Jones Outdoor Tennis Complex.
Over the three days of action, the Mountaineers brought home victories in 21 of their 26 singles matches and 12 of their 13 doubles matches from the weekend.
🔼 Ballin’ Out. Once again, it was quite a week for the #AppStateNFL crew
Veteran punter Sam Martin averaged 44.7 yards per punt, including two placed inside the 20-yard line in Carolina’s 32-26 victory over Detroit on Sunday Night Football.
Akeem Davis-Gaither notched his fourth straight game with seven or more tackles, finishing with eight stops in Indianapolis’ 30-13 victory over Washington. Ryan Neuzil and the Falcons ran all over the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football en route to a 45-24 victory. D’Marco Jackson also added three tackles in Chicago’s win over the Jets.

Through 18 matches this fall, App State Volleyball currently ranks second in the country in both assists and kills entering tomorrow night’s showdown with Georgia Southern.
