🔼 Dominic Da Leg. Add another honor to the 2025 App State Football resume.

Freshman kicker Dominic De Freitas was named the Sun Belt Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week after he hit two field goals from 45-plus yards in the Mountaineers' 27-23 home win against Oregon State this past weekend.

It was App State's first-ever home victory against a team from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 or SEC.

De Freitas, a freshman, opened the scoring with a season-long field goal from 49 yards and added a 45-yard field goal late in the third quarter to give the Mountaineers a 27-21 lead.

🔼 Young Gun. Led by a top-10 finish from record-matching freshman Alisa Pressley, App State Women's Golf tied for fifth place in a 15-team field at the Pirate Collegiate Classic hosted by East Carolina.

Pressley, the 18-hole co-leader, was in second place with a 6-under total with four holes to play in the final round before tying for eighth at 2 under (69-73-72—214) on the par-72 layout. It's the second-lowest 54-hole total in program history, behind only classmate Zoe Duval's 211 in the previous event on Sept. 16, and Pressley tied Duval's 2-under total from the Elon Invitational as the lowest 54-hole score relative to par in program history.
 
There are six rounds in program history with an 18-hole score of 3 under or better, and three have been recorded this fall, including two by Pressley. She was the highest Sun Belt finisher in the event.

🔼 Sunday Rewind. Another weekend of NFL action, another weekend of Mountaineers showing out.

Longtime veteran punter Sam Martin had a monster week for the Carolina Panthers, who had a come-from-behind against the Miami Dolphins. Martin unleashed three punts averaging 53.7 yards, including a 61-yarder. The 53.7 average is the second highest average in Martin’s past three seasons.

Akeem Davis-Gaither had five tackles, including splitting a tackle for a loss, in the Arizona Cardinals’ battle with the Titans.

Saturday’s win over Oregon State was the 14th straight Saturday home victory for the Mountaineers. App State has now won nine of its last 10 home games dating back to the 2023 campaign.

Since joining the FBS ranks, the Mountaineers are 59-11 (.843) at The Rock. Where does that rank nationally over that span?
