Good morning, App State Fam. We love seeing our Mountaineers making an impact in the local community!

What all do we have stirring in today’s Brew? Check it out below.

Who doesn’t love a trip down memory lane?

App State football is back in action this week against ODU and we visit with defensive end Keaton Braddock after his big performance at NC State.

Plus, as we honor the 2006 national championship team on Saturday, Kevin Richardson joins the pod to reflect back on one of the most dominant teams in school history.

🔼 Title Touting. Twenty years removed from a dominant run to a second straight national title, App State Football's 2006 championship team will be honored and celebrated during tomorrow’s Homecoming showdown against Old Dominion.

The second step in a national title three-peat under Hall of Fame coach Jerry Moore from 2005-07, the 2006 squad went 14-1 by following a season-opening loss at NC State with 14 straight wins, including a 13-0 mark with freshman Armanti Edwards as the starting quarterback.

Members of the 2006 team will be recognized on the field during the Sun Belt Conference opener for the Mountaineers.

Kickoff on ESPN+ is set for 1 p.m.

🔼 Hats Off. From the moment she arrived in Boone as a freshman, striker Ellie Garrison has delivered many eye-popping performances.

Thursday night in Statesboro, Garrison delivered the most impressive outing of her career, registering the seventh hat-trick in program history to lead App State Soccer to a 4-0 victory over Georgia Southern.

Garrison tallied her first goal just ten minutes into the match and App State never looked back on its way to a program-record sixth road win of the season. The four goals were also the most that App State has scored in its 41 all-time meetings against Georgia Southern.

🔼 Drive To Five. In a matchup of Sun Belt teams with unbeaten league records, App State Volleyball continued its hot streak with a four-set victory (30-28, 25-17, 23-25, 25-17) against Georgia Southern on Thursday night at the Holmes Center.

Both teams entered this week with two-match sweeps of Old Dominion and Coastal Carolina on their records, with Georgia Southern winning all 12 sets in those four matchups. That streak ended as App State pulled out a marathon first set, then won the second and fourth sets decisively.

The Mountaineers (12-7, 5-0) and Eagles (12-5, 4-1) square off again Friday at 6 p.m. in Boone. Fans can present their Homecoming football ticket for Saturday's game at the South West Entrance Ticket Window to receive $5 admission.

🔼 Nod To Noah. For a second consecutive meet, App State's Noah Martinson has been named the Sun Belt Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Martinson led the Mountaineers for the third straight meet in the Fire Tower Project 8K, clocking an impressive time of 24:21.5 to earn a ninth-place finish in a field of 115 runners. It was his third top-10 finish in as many meets this season.

The Carrollton, Ga., native earned runner of the week honors for the first time this season with his performance at the Southern Showcase on Sept. 18. The last time a Mountaineer earned back-to-back SBC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors was Oliver Wilson-Cook in 2023.

🔼 Be A Giant Killer. Your App State Mountaineers are in the game, and you can be too in this week’s Mountaineer Mode Challenge.

Lifelong Mountaineers and brand-new fans alike can be closer to the action than ever before by playing as App State in the EA SPORTS College Football 27 video game and participating in weekly challenges for the chance to win fun prizes throughout the season, courtesy of App State Athletics.

The second week challenge is Giant Killer! Defeat a top-10 team as the Mountaineers and submit your screenshot/video and contact information below to be entered to win this week’s prize. Submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, October 12.
