๐ผ Back In Black. The first fumble recovery of the fourth quarter produced the go-ahead points. The second recovery sealed an emotional, dramatic rivalry win at The Rock.
App State defenders Caleb Sandstrom and Colton Phares made critical plays in the final six minutes, both recovering fumbles that they also forced, and those takeaways were sandwiched around Dominic De Freitas' go-ahead field goal from 23 yards out with 2:02 remaining in a 26-24 win against Marshall on Saturday.
It was Black Saturday and Heroes Day in Boone, with a crowd of 31,322 on hand to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of the 2005 national title team and cheer on a 2025 squad that overcame a double-digit deficit against the Thundering Herd. App State closes the regular season next Saturday against Arkansas State with a chance to clinch bowl eligibility at The Rock.
True freshman Jaquari Lewis rushed for a season-best 175 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries Saturday, while also adding five catches for 39 yards to lead the offensive unit.

๐ผ The Boys Are Back In Town. Following a late basket to tie the score at 63 with nine seconds to play, the App State men's basketball team needed a heroic shot to win in regulation. Enter Kasen Jennings.
Taking the inbounds pass across halfcourt, Jennings got into the paint and pump-faked two Charlotte defenders into the air before calmly nailing the game-winning basket with two seconds to play, which clinched a thrilling 65-63 Mountaineer victory in their return to the Holmes Center on Friday.
App State saw major contributions from its bench on Friday as it outscored Charlotte's bench by 16 (27-11). Michael Marcus Jr., Andrin Njock and Jalen Tot each accounted for seven or more points, with both Tot and Marcus Jr. hitting big second-half shots. Additionally, Jason Clarke Jr. changed the game with his defense late, drawing a crucial offensive foul with 36 seconds left in regulation to steal a possession for the Mountaineers.
Jennings led the way offensively with 15 points, while Alonzo Dodd added 10 points.
