🟡 And much more

🔼 Feelin’ 100. With all 18 team members scoring, App State Men's Basketball posted another opening-week win, cruising to a 108-43 victory over Christendom in its home debut.

Two days removed from a 63-49 victory against Merrimack to begin the season, the Mountaineers limited their United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) opponent from northern Virginia to 31-percent shooting, while going 15-for-39 from 3-point range in the Holmes Center.

All five of App State's double-figure scorers Wednesday came off the bench, as Mason Costello produced 15 points and Da'Mori Lytch contributed 13 while making all five of his field-goal attempts. Corbin Allen scored 11 points and grabbed a team-best six rebounds in his App State debut, and the Mountaineers got 10 points apiece from freshmen Jonathan Moss and Bryan Chretien.

🔼 Home Sweet Home. App State Women's Basketball dominated its home opener on Wednesday, rolling to a 107-43 victory over Montreat College.

The 107-point performance for the Mountaineers ties for the sixth-highest single-game scoring total in program history. App State held the Cavaliers to just 43 points, the fewest allowed in any of the program's 107-point games.

Jadyn Atchison led five Mountaineers in double figures, scoring 16 points on 5-for-6 shooting to go along with five rebounds. Jayden McBride added 15 points, Daisia Mitchell scored 14, Feryal Defne Atli contributed 12 and Torin Rogers rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10.

🔼 Three’s Company. All good things come in three’s, right?

This week, a trio of App State Field Hockey standouts garnered All-MAC accolades.

Sophia Baxter was named to the first team for the second consecutive season, while Chloe Hook earned a spot on the second team.

Chloe and her twin sister Morgan both earned recognition on the MAC All-Freshman team, as well.

🔼 Coming Home. App State Football returns home to Kidd Brewer Stadium tomorrow when it welcomes Georgia State to town for a Saturday afternoon showdown.

The Heroes Day matchup gives the Mountaineers an opportunity to secure bowl eligibility with their sixth victory while keeping themselves in the hunt in the Sun Belt East Division.

Kickoff on ESPN+ is set for 2:30 p.m.

🔼 Connect Four. App State Soccer standouts Ellie Garrison, Maddie Williams, Lucy Harrington and Hanna Skogsfors were all named to All-Sun Belt Conference teams this week.

Garrison was selected to the conference's first team, Williams was named a second-team selection and Harrington and Skogsfors were named third-team honorees.

It marks the first time in program history that more than two players have earned postseason accolades.

🔼 Thunder Struck. App State Volleyball honored its seniors not only before the game, but on the court as well, battling to a four-set victory over visiting Marshall (18-25, 26-24, 25-12, 25-19).

The two teams will meet again on Friday night at 6 p.m. with App State needing just one win over its final three regular season matches to clinch a first round bye in the upcoming Sun Belt Tournament.

Four Mountaineers finished in double-figures in kills led by Bella Hutchens with 15. She was joined by Brooke Doherty (14), Delanie Grevengoed (11) and Chelsea Gilmore (11). MeMe Davis and Raegan Richardson posted match highs of 24 digs and 44 assists, respectively.

🔼 The Record Breaker. Following a record setting week for App State soccer, junior forward Ellie Garrison was named Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Garrison scored two goals in App State's 3-0 victory over Troy in the regular season finale on Sunday, setting App State single-season records for goals (12) and points (26). It was Garrison's third brace of the season to go along with a hat trick.

The Trinity, N.C., native is the third Mountaineer to win a weekly Sun Belt honor this season, joining Lucy Harrington, who earned Defensive Player of the Week honors on Aug. 25, and Libby Bermingham, who won offensive honors on Sept. 8. It marks the third time Garrison has earned the honor in her career.

App State Women’s Basketball has forced 48 combined turnovers in the first two games of the 2026-27 season, forcing its opponents into back-to-back 20+ turnover outings.

When was the last time the Mountaineers forced two consecutive opponents into 20+ turnovers each?
