🔼 Grand Opening. The App State women's basketball team opened the 2025-26 campaign on Monday with a 65-45 victory over Western Michigan in the first installment of this season's MAC-SBC Challenge.

Three Mountaineers scored double-figures, led by sophomore Jayden McBride and junior Daisia Mitchell, who each netted 16 points. Senior Emily Hege scored 11 points and combined with McBride for six of App State's nine 3-point buckets. Graduate student Zoë McCrary grabbed a team high seven rebounds, followed by Mitchell, senior Emma Smith, and sophomore Feryal Defne Atli, who each pulled down six.

🔼 Must See TV. The Mountaineers continue their hunt for bowl season in front of a national audience tomorrow night at The Rock.

App State Football is set to welcome fellow Sun Belt East division member, Georgia Southern, to town for a Thursday night showdown on ESPN2.

Two victories in the final two regular season games would give the Mountaineers a ticket to bowl season.

Kickoff tomorrow night at Kidd Brewer Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m.

🔼 Three Of A Kind. Even before stepping onto the field for today’s quarterfinal matchup at the MAC Tournament, the App State Field Hockey program is already rolling in the accolades.

Sophia Baxter and Lise Boekaar were named to the All-MAC first team, and Hadley Kuzmicky was selected to the second team.

🔼 Ball, Ball, Ball! The #AppStateNFL continues to shine each week.

On Monday Night Football, Akeem Davis-Gaither was a part of a turnover for the second straight week, this time recovering a late fourth quarter fumble in the Cardinals’ win in Dallas.

Davis-Gaither is in the middle of a career year, averaging over seven tackles per game, nearly double his previous career-high.

🔼 Tourney Time. The third-seeded App State Field Hockey program begins their quest for a MAC Championship with the first round of the MAC Tournament this afternoon in Harrisonburg, Va.

Sporting a 13-5 overall record, the Mountaineers square off with Ohio, a team that App State defeated in a 5-3 thriller earlier this season.

🔼 Home Sweet Home. After a tough opening night loss to Central Michigan on Monday night, the App State men’s basketball squad opens up its home schedule tonight with Carolina University visiting the Holmes Convocation Center for a 6:30 p.m. tip.

South Florida transfer Kasen Jennings had a big night in Monday’s opener, dropping 21 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Mountaineers.

Tomorrow night marks another chapter in the App State-Georgia Southern rivalry.

Answer: 33 straight seasons.

The streak dates back to the Eagles being a new member of the Southern Conference in 1993 (with six meetings prior to 1993), and they both made the FCS-to-FBS transition to the Sun Belt in 2014. Of those six Thursday games from 2014-19, App State went 3-3 with home wins in 2015 and 2017 before a 2019 loss.

🟡 Have a great one!
