🔼 No Sunday Scaries Here. The App State men's basketball team led from the opening tip to the final buzzer, dominating the North Carolina Central Eagles to post a 76-54 win at the Holmes Center on Sunday.

The Mountaineers' defense shined bright, as they held the Eagles to just 30-percent from the field on the day.

App State spread the wealth as nine different players scored a basket in the game. The Mountaineers were led by a career-best day from Kasen Jennings, who tallied 22 points to lead all scorers. Along with Jennings, Andrin Njock was very good in his minutes as he netted a career-high 11 points on 4-4 shooting. Njock provided three highlight-reel dunks against the Eagles, while also being strong on the glass with seven rebounds.

🔼 Workin’ The Weekend. It was a busy weekend for the App State Wrestling squad, who spent two days at the Journeyman Classic in Bethlehem, Pa.

Five App State wrestlers posted unbeaten records on Sunday to highlight the trip.

The event had a format with more round-robin elements than a traditional tournament, with some weight classes having as many as eight different pools of competitors. Alex Hopper went 4-0 in his pool at 174 pounds, while Aldo Hernandez (141), Anthony Conetta (165), Logan Eller (197) and Stephan Monchery (heavyweight) all went 3-0.

🔼 Feeling 100. It was quite a fun Friday night in Boone as the App State women’s basketball team notched the program's second 100-point game of the Coach Sharp era (21st in program history) with a 110-35 victory over Bob Jones University.

The win tied the Mountaineers' second-highest scoring output in program history, originally set on Nov. 14, 1982, against Tennessee Tech.

Six Mountaineers scored in double-figures against Bob Jones, led by freshman Addie Biel. Biel netted a career high 22 points, knocking down 10-of-11 from the field. She also matched graduate student Zoë McCrary with a team-high eight rebounds.

Freshman Isa Roman scored a career-high 14 points, while seniors Emily Hege, Elena Pericic and junior Daisia Mitchell combined for 36 points, each contributing 12. Graduate student Jada Burton was the final player in double-figures with 10 in the contest.

Kasen Jennings arrived in Boone with plenty of collegiate experience and it’s showed as the veteran has reached 20+ points in two of his first three games with the Mountaineers.

How many times had Jennings scored 20+ points at his previous stops at South Florida and Kennesaw State (116 career games)?

Got a guess?
