Mountaineers Roll Past Gardner-Webb; Best Start Since 2012-13

🔼 Hot Start. The App State women’s hoops squad made the short trip south to Gardner-Webb and came back with the program’s best start through eight games since 2012-13.
Four Mountaineers in double-figures helped App State past the Bulldogs, 63-53, on Monday evening to move to 6-2 on the season.
Leading the way was senior Emily Hege, who scored 16 points. Sophomore Feryal Defne Atli and senior Elena Pericic matched with 13 points apiece. Atli drained 6-of-8 from the field and grabbed a team high seven rebounds for the Black and Gold.
Pericic drained 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, combining with sophomore Jayden McBride for seven of App State's 10 treys. Senior Emma Smith dished out a team high six assists on the evening, four of which she tallied in the first period.
🔼 The Future Starts Now. The future officially begins today when the App State family grows bigger and brighter with National Signing Day 2026.

🔼 Home Sweet Home. After almost 10 days away from home, the App State men’s basketball program is back at the Holmes Convocation Center tonight when Virginia Lynchburg comes to town for a 6:30 p.m. showdown.
The Mountaineers are 3-1 at home this season and led by guard Kasen Jennings, who is averaging 14.9 ppg.

This week, App State Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Damion McLean announced the 2025-26 indoor and outdoor track and field schedule. .
Set to begin this weekend in Winston-Salem, the Mountaineers' schedule will be highlighted by one home meet, the John Weaver Invitational, on April 24-25.


The 2012-13 App State women’s squad started the season 7-1 and earned a berth in the postseason WNIT.
