🟡 And much more

🔼 Let’s Go Bowling. Accepting an opportunity to compete in the postseason, App State Football will face Sun Belt Conference rival Georgia Southern in the JLab Birmingham Bowl on Monday, Dec. 29.

The game, held at Protective Stadium, the four-year old home to UAB Football in downtown Birmingham, will kick off at 1 p.m. CT (2 p.m. ET) and air on ESPN.

This will be App State's ninth bowl appearance in 11 postseason-eligible seasons at the FBS level. It earned bowl berths in eight of its first nine seasons after becoming postseason-eligible in 2015, including an NCAA-record seven berths in the first seven seasons.

🔼 Raising The Bar. We tried to tell everyone last week that the future was bright. Now, you’ve got the evidence.

Last week, App State Football and head coach Dowell Loggains continued to build the 2026 roster by signing a record-breaking class of 29 recruits.

The first full signing class for Loggains is the highest-rated class in App State history, the top-rated 2026 class in the Sun Belt and also the highest-ranked class in Sun Belt history via 247Sports, which currently has the Mountaineers with a national ranking of 56th.

App State's class ranks No. 2 among Group of Six conference members (behind only Boise State) and is higher than 14 programs from Power Four conferences.

🔼 Among The Elite. App State freshmen Aidan Morrow and Bryant Young rounded out the top 20 in the U20 men's 8K race at the USATF Cross Country Championships this past weekend.

Morrow crossed the finish line with a time of 26:36.2, placing 17th overall. With a time of 26:42.7, Young finished 20th overall.

🔼 Starting Fast. Now that’s how you open a season!

The App State women's track and field team opened the 2025-26 indoor season in record-setting fashion at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off on Saturday.

A new meet record, set by the 4x400-meter relay quartet of junior Nicole Wells, seniors Damyja Alejandro-Ortiz and Daye Talley, and junior Jayla Adams, punctuated the day's action.

What is App State’s record in their previous eight bowl game appearances?
