🟡 And much more

🔼 Shine Bright On The Diamond. For the first time since 2023, the App State Baseball team opened up its season with a 3-0 start after rolling to a series sweep of Canisius, outscorring the Golden Griffins to the tune of 26-10 in three games.
The Mountaineer offense pounded out 23 hits on the weekend, led by four apiece from Kameron Miller and Drew DuPont.
On the mound, App State hurlers combined to strike out 34 Canisius hitters in 25 innings of work, while allowing just 15 hits.

🔼 Super Start. The App State Softball team continued to make history this past weekend, piling up a 4-1 mark at the Spiro Classic to push their overall record to 8-1 to start the 2026 season.
It’s the best record to a season in program history and the Mountaineers own the fewest losses in the Sun Belt after the first two weekends.
App State’s offense was potent once again, racking up 35 runs in five games, behind 41 hits and seven HRs.

🔼 Gritty In Pink. On a day where the App State women’s basketball program celebrated its annual Alumni Day, the Mountaineers made them beam with pride, fighting back for a hard-fought 73-67 overtime victory over visiting Georgia State on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Elena Pericic drained a crucial 3-point bucket to force overtime, where the Mountaineers outscored the Panthers, 13-7, to seal the win.
Four Mountaineers scored in double figures, led by Pericic, who netted 18 points. Pericic drained 4-of-6 from beyond the arc and 6-of-8 from the field. Junior Daisia Mitchell recorded her 17th game in double figures with 15 points and combined with seniors Emma Smith and Emily Hege for 15 of App State's 21 assists. With a team-high 10 rebounds and 12 points, freshman Addie Biel registered her first career double-double.
🔼 Leading The Pack. We might have found the reason behind the weather outside heating up a bit.
It may be thanks to the App State women’s track and field squad, who blistered the track over the weekend, leading to a first-place finish at the VMI Winter Classic.
The Mountaineers registered five individual first-place finishes, tallied 31 top five finishes, and scored 209 points on the day.
Throughout the month of February, our Mountaineer student-athletes share their reflections and thoughts on what Black History Month means to them.
New Orleans native Cary Grant from App State Football shares some meaningful connections from his home state and the inspiration he receives from role models like his strong, successful mother.

With four HRs this past weekend for App State Softball, Makayla McClain became just the 10th Mountaineer in program history to reach 20 or more career home runs (and did so in just 54 games).
Who is the program’s all-time leader in career long balls?
Got a guess?
