🔼 Lock It In. Start the countdown now, folks. The 2026 App State Football schedule is officially here.

On Friday, the Sun Belt Conference put the finishing touches on next year’s docket. The schedule has five Saturday home dates to go along with one midweek home game in league play: a nationally televised Thursday home contest against James Madison on Oct. 22, six days after App State plays a Friday night game at Coastal Carolina.

With head coach Dowell Loggains entering his second season in Boone, the Mountaineers began Spring Ball 2026 practices earlier this month. There are 66 newcomers currently on the 2026 roster, including 35 transfer portal newcomers from NCAA institutions and 29 December signees.

The App State men's and women's track & field teams won 14 events and secured several school and meet records in their outdoor season opener at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge.

In addition to the event victories, the Mountaineers piled up five different records on the weekend.

🔼 Status Verified. Just days after being named to the National Pitcher of the Year Watch List, Gage Peterson made sure to silence any doubters that were left.

In a masterful performance against #16 Coastal Carolina, Peterson tossed seven shutout innings, allowing just two hits and two walks, while striking out nine Chanticleers on Saturday afternoon in Boone.

Peterson has not allowed an earned run in his last 14 innings of work, while piling up 21 strikeouts during that stretch. He currently boasts an ERA of just 1.24 in 29.0 innings of work this spring.

It was quite a debut for Harlee Fonville, setting a program record in the discus in her first collegiate meet.
