🔼 The Friendly Confines. With just four home games through the first six weeks of the season, the App State Softball squad is ready for the friendly confines of Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium.

The Mountaineers kick off a six-game homestand tonight when Southern Miss rolls into town for the first of a three-game Sun Belt Conference series in Boone. First pitch tonight is set for 6 pm. The Sun Belt currently ranks third nationally in conference RPI.

App State is currently ranked #15 in Softball America’s Top-25 Mid-Major Poll and #25 in D1Softball’s Top-25 Mid-Major Poll.

🔼 Marchin’ On. Wins from App State wrestlers bookended Day 1 of the NCAA Championships.
 
Aldo Hernandez began competition Thursday, shortly after noon, with a pigtail-round victory at 141 pounds. Roughly 11 hours later, heavyweight Stephan Monchery advanced to Day 2 thanks to a 4-1 victory against four-time NCAA qualifier Luke Luffman from Illinois in the final match held in an emptying Rocket Arena.

Monchery had his hand raised a few minutes before 11 p.m. on the strength of a takedown with seven seconds left in the second period. After a 1-1 opening day in the double-elimination event, he will face No. 9 seed Cole Mirasola from Penn State on Friday afternoon.

🔼 Back To Work. After taking some time off for Spring Break, the App State Football program returned to the gridiron this week to continue its spring ball work.

The Mountaineers spring ball will culminate with its annual spring game, which is currently scheduled for Saturday, April 18th at Kidd Brewer Stadium.

🔼 Raising The Bar. The App State golf programs officially raised the bar this week as the Mountaineers an all-new golf room.
