Softball Set To Host Alumni Weekend With Georgia State In Town

App State's all-time leading rusher, Marcus Cox, is now the board president of the newly formed football alumni network. He joins the pod to discuss his new role and, of course, reminisce about his playing days in Boone.

Plus, we put a bow on the wrestling season and preview the weekend ahead for baseball, softball and tennis.

🔼 Welcome Back. A special weekend is on tap for the App State Softball program as it hosts its annual Alumni Weekend in Boone.

The Mountaineers will welcome back former players and their families to enjoy a three-game series with Georgia State rolling into town.

Game times are set for 6 pm (Friday), 3 pm (Saturday) and noon (Sunday).

🔼 Coming Home. The App State Softball alums aren’t the only ones coming back home this week as #AppStateNFL member, Nick Hampton, inked a free agent deal with the Carolina Panthers over the weekend.

Hampton spent the past three seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, playing in 36 games in that span, racking up 17 tackles and two pass deflections.

🔼 Measuring Up. On Wednesday, 11 members of the App State Football program laced them up and put on a show, looking for their shot at the next level.

The Mountaineers hosted their annual Pro Day on campus with professional scouts from around the world coming to look for the next star in the making.

This weekend, the alums are looking to enjoy some big bats from the Mountaineers, who enter the three-game set against Georgia State with 55 home runs on the season.
