Mountaineers Move Into Sun Belt Quarterfinals with Dominant Victory

🔼 Marchin’ On. For the third time in the past four years, the App State Tennis squad is moving on in the Sun Belt Tournament in Rome, Ga.

On Thursday afternoon, the Mountaineers marched past 11th-seeded Southern Miss, 4-1, into Friday’s quarterfinals.

App State now will square off with third-seeded Troy later this afternoon at 2:30 pm.

🔼 Stayin’ Hot. App State Baseball has won four consecutive games and nine of its last 11, heading into this weekend’s three-game Sun Belt series with Georgia Southern at Smith Stadium.

Friday is country night, featuring a boot koozie giveaway with first pitch set for 6 p.m. Black Saturday is set for 3 p.m. with a rally towel giveaway. Heroes Day is set for Sunday, with first pitch set for 1 p.m. in the finale.

🔼 Meet The Mountaineers. Plenty of new faces are strapping are ready to strap on the pads for the App State Football program this upcoming fall.

🔼 Making A Push. With only two Sun Belt series left on the regular season schedule, the App State Softball program heads to Statesboro, Ga., for a monster weekend against the Eagles of Georgia Southern.

The Mountaineers, Eagles and Coastal Carolina are all tied for ninth place with only 10 teams earning a spot in next month’s Sun Belt Tournament.

Game times are set for 6 p.m. on Friday, 3 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.

🔼 Power Pair. The magical season continues as App State Tennis standout No. 14 Savannah Dada-Mascoll earned Sun Belt Women's Tennis Player of the Week accolades for the fifth time this season, while also earning Sun Belt Doubles Team of the Week honors alongside sophomore Ruby Broadbent.

This marks the second time the Mountaineers have swept the weekly awards this season, with the first sweep occurring Feb. 26, when Dada-Mascoll was named Player of the Week and Taya Powell was part of the Doubles Team of the Week. It also marks the program's seventh weekly award this season, surpassing the previous records of three set in 2024 and 2020, with Dada-Mascoll the common denominator in all seven.

🔼 Duuuvallll. App State Women's Golf posted its best finish at the Sun Belt Championship tournament since 2017, placing sixth in the 13-team field.
 
Mountaineer true freshman Zoe Duval tied for fifth place individually with a 2-under total (69-76-69—214), finishing five shots behind medalist Barbara Car of ODU.

Savannah Dada-Mascoll currently leads the country in total wins since the beginning of the fall season.
