Mountaineers Take Two-Of-Three From Thundering Herd in Sun Belt Action

Good morning, App State Fam. Welcome to the club, Mr. Springs!
What all do we have stirring in today’s Brew? Check it out below.
⚾️ Thunder Down
🎾 Two-For-One Special
💪 Just Getting Started
🟡 And much more
🔼 Thunder Down. Playing its first home conference series in nearly a month, the App State baseball team finished strong, taking the final two games to clinch its three-game series with Marshall.
After gutting out a tough 5-4 win on Friday, Gage Peterson continued his dominant season on the mound with an outstanding performance in App State’s 10-4 series-clinching victory on Saturday.
🔼 Two-For-One Special. What’s better than a winning weekend? How about a two-win weekend?
The App State tennis squad extended its win streak to three straight with Sun Belt road wins over Georgia Southern (4-0) and Coastal Carolina (4-3).
In the win over Coastal on Saturday, ninth-ranked Savannah Dada-Mascoll extended her win streak to 18, completing another straight-set win, 6-1, 7-5, at No. 1. Her set streak now stands at 22 and has not dropped a set since Feb. 28.
🔼 Just Getting Started. After missing all of last spring with an injury, App State alum Jackson Steensma returned to the mound for his first professional appearance on Saturday night and did so in a big way.
Steensma struck out the first four batters he faced and finished with two perfect innings for the Inland Empire 66ers in the Seattle Mariners organization.
🔼 Signed, Sealed, Delivered. She’s not ready to hang up the cleats just yet.
Late last week, App State alum Shannon Studer signed a professional contract with the USLW’s Pittsburgh Riveters SC.
The defensive midfielder finished her Mountaineer career with 68 games played with six goals and nine assists.

In Saturday’s win over Marshall, Gage Peterson racked up 7+ strikeouts for the sixth time this spring.
How many total punchouts does Peterson have in his 45.0 innings of work in 2026?
Got a guess?
