Six Mountaineers Earn Spots at NCAA East Preliminary Round

🔼 Punchin’ Tickets. The road to the NCAA Championships start now.
On Thursday, the NCAA announced all the qualifiers for the first round of postseason action, the NCAA East Preliminaries in Lexington, Kentucky, set to take place from May 27-30.
Six Mountaineers earned spots in the postseason, led by record holder Matthew Gray, who currently sits at No. 1 in the East Region in the men’s pole vault.
🔼 Praisin’ A Pair. The history making continued for the App State Track & Field program this week.
On Wednesday, Matthew Gray was named the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Men’s Field Performer of the Year and Ashlynn Wimberly was voted Women's Freshman of the Year. Both athletes are the first Mountaineers in program history to win the respective accolades.
App State had 17 athletes make the All-Sun Belt first, second, and third teams based on their performances at the championship meet.

🔼 Signed, Sealed, Delivered. The pipeline to MLB organizations grew a little bigger for the App State Baseball program this week.
Former righthander Bradley Wilson signed a free-agent contract with the Toronto Blue Jays earlier this week.
After spending last season with the Florence Y’alls of the Independent Frontier League, Wilson inked a minor league deal with the Jays and will look to add depth to the bullpen at Single-A Dunedin.
Across three seasons with the Mountaineers, Wilson made 55 appearances, including a career-high 24 during his senior season in 2024.
A record-setting season for the App State Baseball program came to a close on Thursday with a loss to 24th-ranked Coastal Carolina.
The Mountaineers finished the year as the conference’s leader in team hitting. What did App State hit as a team this season?
