App State Brew 5/25: A Day To Honor
Mountaineers Pause To Reflect And Honor

Good morning, App State Fam. Today, we pause to honor and reflect on those who paid the ultimate sacrifice serving our country and allowing us to have the freedoms we enjoy each and every day.
This morning, we hope you enjoy this mini-sized Brew. (Think of it as a single shot of the Mountaineers)
What all do we have stirring in today’s Brew? Check it out below.

🟡 And much more
🔼 On Tour. The 2026 Mountaineer Spring Tour, presented by First Horizon Bank, keeps rolling along with only three stops left after a busy week throughout the state last week.
This week, the tour rolls through Raleigh/Durham on Tuesday, May 26. Next week, the final stops include Hickory (June 1) and Asheville (June 4).
The Mountaineers Athletic Fund and Office of Alumni Engagement teamed up to make this spring's caravan an exciting experience, featuring great venues, food and drink – all free of charge. Guests are asked to register online for events ahead of time.
Featured speakers during the 2026 Mountaineer Spring Tour will include Director of Athletics Doug Gillin and Football Head Coach Dowell Loggains, along with additional staff members of App State Athletics and the Alumni Association. Speakers may change due to availability.
🔼 Movin’ On Up. He may only be six games into his professional career, but former App State standout Jackson Steensma is already moving up the prospect charts.
After posting just a 1.42 ERA in his first month of professional baseball, Steensma climbed into the Mariners’ Top-30 prospect list last week.
In 19.0 innings this spring for the Class-A Inland Empire 66ers, Steensma has allowed just seven hits and three earned runs, while striking out 29 opposing hitters.
🔼 Making An Impact. This spring, Yosef and some of our student-athletes spent some time in our community!
Check out this awesome video to see how our Mountaineers are making a difference off the field.

It’s been a historic season for the App State Track & Field and Cross Country program.
