🏈 Countin’ Down
🟡 And much more

Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of App State Football this fall. The Mountaineers will
host Maine on September 5 at 3:30 p.m.
82 Days Away. One of the most productive wide receivers to ever put on an App State football uniform donned the #82 in the late 1960s.
Bob Agle was an offensive star for the Mountaineers from 1965-1968, finishing his career with 146 catches for 2,151 yards.
He held program records for TD receptions in a single season (13 in 1968) and a career (25) for nearly 40 years before those marks were broken. He still ranks second in both categories.
Agle was inducted into the App State Athletics Hall of Fame in 1979.

🔼 Diamond Check-In. Former App State standout Jeffrey Springs continues to be a staple in the A’s rotation as the 2026 MLB season closes in on the mid-way point.
Springs has made 14 starts for the A’s, racking up 75 innings pitched with 63 strikeouts.
Now in his ninth MLB season, the southpaw has appeared in 191 games, including 81 starts, while piling up 559.2 innings of work and 37 career victories.
🔼 Nation’s Finest. This past week, a trio of Mountaineer staffers were recognized among the country’s best at the annual convention for collegiate athletic departments in Las Vegas.
App State’s Academic Services for Student-Athletes staff was honored with the Model Practice Award in Academics for the work they’ve put into the transfer portal process for the Mountaineers.
🔼 Welcome To The Mountain. Another new face was added to the App State men’s basketball family recently with the hiring of Michael Henson as the program’s Director of Basketball Operations.
Henson arrives in Boone after serving as a graduate assistant at Jacksonville State, where he assisted with scouting, analysis, film, and much more.

During Bob Agle’s career with the Mountaineers in the late 1960s, who was App State’s starting QB throwing to Agle during that time?
Got a guess?
