Good morning, App State Fam. New Orleans was great, now it’s time to lock in and put the work on display this fall!

What all do we have stirring in today’s Brew? Check it out below.

⏱️ The Big 5-0
🏈 Sneak Peek
🎾 Academic Aces
🟡 And much more

Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of App State Football this fall. The Mountaineers will
host Maine on September 5 at 3:30 p.m.

5️⃣0️⃣ Days Away. The countdown has finally reached 50 days!

The year was 2022. It was just the beginning of an All-American career for App State kicker Michael Hughes.

Hughes started his full-time starting kicking role that season with 5️⃣0️⃣ consecutive extra-points. It was just a preview of what’s to come as the West Virginia native went on to go a perfect 120-for-120 in his award-winning career with the Mountaineers.

He currently holds the program record for both field-goal percentage (83.3-percent) and PAT percentage (100-percent).

🔼 Sneak Peek. With football season on the horizon, App State Football head coach Dowell Loggains, linebacker Colton Phares and quarterback Malachi Singleton conducted numerous interviews on Wednesday, the opening day of Sun Belt Football Media Days.

The Mountaineers had a main stage press conference, an appearance at the league's Superdome studio and other interviews with outlets that cover the Sun Belt.

🔼 Signed, Sealed, Delivered. A pair of App State alums are headed to the professional ranks.

This week, Myles Tate and Alonzo Dodd both signed deals to head overseas to continue their basketball careers.

🔼 Academic Aces. The tennis court wasn’t the only place the App State tennis team delivered some aces this spring.

For the third consecutive year, the App State tennis team garnered All-Academic Team honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), while six players were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.

Ruby Broadbent, Alexi Cleveland, Riley Collins, Allegra Hodson, Taya Powell and Isabela Romanichen were named ITA Scholar-Athletes after meeting the 3.5 GPA minimum for the 2025–26 academic year.

As a team, the Mountaineers compiled a 3.6 GPA for the academic year, clearing the 3.2 GPA required to qualify for the team award.

For the past two seasons, Alonzo Dodd ran the point for the App State Men’s Basketball program.

During his two years in Boone, how many points and assists did Dodd rack up?

Got a guess?
