🔼 Just Getting Started. Nothing like getting the year started with a heart stopper, huh?
That’s exactly what the App State Soccer squad did on Thursday night, pulling out a thrilling 3-2 road victory at Western Carolina to officially kick off the Mountaineers 2025-26 athletic calendar.
Ellie Garrison played the hero, scoring the game-winner with just over a minute to play to complete a brace after her first half penalty kick.

🔼 So Fresh, So Clean. When you arrive for a game at Holmes Convocation Center this fall, things may look a little different. This week, the floor at Holmes got a fresh new look for the upcoming season.

1️⃣4️⃣ days from kickoff…

When it comes to App State football, is there any other way to celebrate 1️⃣4️⃣ days out than to honor not one, but ✌️ Mountaineer legends that donned the #1️⃣4️⃣.
First, we started with four-time All-American Armanti Edwards, who threw for 10,392 yards and 74 touchdowns, while also piling up 4,361 yards on the ground and 65 rushing TDs. He was the first Division I football student-athlete to ever pass for over 10,000 yards and rush for over 4,000.
Edwards led the Mountaineers to back-to-back National Championships in 2006 and 2007.
Just a few years later, Marcus Cox threw on the digits and put up a legendary career of his own, finishing as App State’s all-time leading rusher with 5,103 yards and is the only player in program history with four 1,000-yard rushing seasons. He finished with 52 career rushing touchdowns (and 61 total touchdowns), and as a four-time all-conference performer, he helped lead App State to a 20-4 league record in its first three Sun Belt Conference seasons.

Armanti Edwards is one of two former App State football student-athletes to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Who is the other Mountaineer student-athlete with that distinction?
