Football training camp is well underway and the guys are joined by Ahmad "Ammo" Robinson to discuss the origin of one of the all-time great nicknames and his role as one of this year's team captains.

Plus, Bret and Adam cycle through some of the great nicknames in the history of App State athletics.

🔼 Second Helpings. The App State Soccer used a strong second half to pick up the Mountaineers’ first victory of the 2026-27 athletic calendar in a 3-1 road win over Campbell on Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore forward Libby Bermingham scored the go-ahead goal ten minutes into the second half and netted a second tally less than ten minutes later to lead the way.

🔼 The Need For Speed. App State Football alum Jackson Gibbs is no stranger to the spotlight after playing QB for the Mountaineers in 2018 and 2019.

Now, Gibbs is under a different spotlight. He is now in his fifth season as a front tire changer for the Ty Gibbs NASCAR #54 team and was recognized for his strong season in Saturday’s broadcast during the Richmond race.

🔼 Showin’ Out. After a career year with the Arizona Cardinals in 2025, App State alum Akeem Davis-Gaither doesn’t appear to be slowing down in his new home with the Indianapolis Colts.

Over the past two seasons, Davis-Gaither has played in all 34 games with the Cardinals (2025) and Bengals (2024). He has racked up 199 tackles, including a career-high 117 last season.

This summer, he has made his mark in training camp with the Colts and is expected to be in the running for a starting linebacker position with his new squad.

Throughout the summer, we will be counting down the days
to the return of App State Football this fall. The Mountaineers will
host Maine on September 5 at 3:30 p.m.

1️⃣9️⃣ Days Away. The clock is ticking down. We are just 19 days away from kickoff!

The 201️⃣9️⃣ season came to a close with a 31-17 victory over UAB in the New Orleans Bowl.
