Preseason Practices In Full Force as Mountaineers Eye Start To 2025-26 Athletic Calendar

Good Morning, Mountaineers. Who’s up for another run down the mountain with the fellas?
Love where you live!
Had a great time on the @wildruncoaster today in Banner Elk!

What else do we have stirring? Check it out below!

📚 Class Acts
⏱️ Countdown To Kickoff
🟡 And much more!

2️⃣5️⃣ days from kickoff…

For over 40+ years, Bob Agle sat atop the App State record books for career receiving TDs with 2️⃣5️⃣.
And then Brian Quick came along and decided to haul in 31 and finally move Agle to number two on that list.
Agle etched his name all over the record books during his Mountaineer career from 1965-68, racking up 146 catches, 2,151 receiving yards and those 2️⃣5️⃣ TDs.

🔼 Going Campin’. Well, that escalated quickly.
From the quiet summer months to jam-packed action, campus came alive over the past few days as Mountaineer squads are full force into training camp preparing for the start of the upcoming 2025-26 athletic calendar.

🔼 Class Acts. Not only did the App State wrestlers get it done on the mats this past year, but also in the classroom.
Last week, App State Wrestling had 16 student-athletes make the 2025 Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and four student-athletes earn Academic All-SoCon honors.
That total contributed to the Mountaineers posting a team GPA of 3.04 for the spring semester and possessing a cumulative GPA of 3.15.
The Academic All-SoCon recipients were Chad Bellis, Anthony Conetta, Riley Edwards and Kaden Keiser. Earlier this year, Bellis also was named to the CSC Academic All-District team for the second straight year by the College Sports Communicators.

🔼 Doublin’ Down. Former App State hurler Jeffrey Springs set a new career-high late last week as the southpaw earned his 10th victory of the 2025 season for the Athletics.
With him reaching double-digits in wins, he has reached career highs in victories (10) and is on pace to reach career highs in nearly every other statistical category as well.
He has posted quality starts and victories in four of his past five starts for the A’s.

With Jeffrey Springs reaching 10 victories this season, it begs the question, who is the only other App State alum to reach double-digit wins in a single MLB season?
