2️⃣3️⃣ days from kickoff…

Making its FBS postseason debut, App State won a thriller over the Bobcats of Ohio University in the 2015 Camellia Bowl, played in Montgomery, Ala.

The difference came when Zach Matics’ drilled a 2️⃣3️⃣-yard field goal as time expired to give the Mountaineers a thrilling 31-29 victory.

🔼 The Eagle Has Landed. Last week, it was Bucky Williams.

This week, it’s former App State standout Christian Johnstone earning a shot with the pros.

Johnstone, an All-American special teamer last year for the Mountaineers, signed a free-agent deal with the Philadelphia Eagles and reported to camp with the organization earlier this week.

In his five years at App State, Johnstone earned two All-Conference accolades and appeared in 65 games.

🔼 Bright Futures. The future keeps getting brighter for the App State wrestling program.

This week, the final national high school rankings of the 2024-25 season were released with four incoming Mountaineers featured among the nation’s best.

🔼 They’re Backkkk. With a hunt for a fourth straight double-digit win season, the App State field hockey program is back in Boone as the Mountaineers helped move in their talented freshman class this week.

Later this week, the squad will hit the field for their first days of preseason practices ahead of their season opener later this month in Towson, Md.
