🔼 Setting The Slate. App State Wrestling has announced its 2025-26 schedule, a slate packed with high-profile duals, big-name tournaments and key SoCon matchups that will test the Mountaineers from November through March.
Led by head coach JohnMark Bentley, who is entering his 17th season, the Mountaineers have lost four veteran starters but are returning a large group of accomplished wrestlers from the team that won SoCon regular season and tournament titles last season.

🔼 #AppStateNFL Check-In. The NFL season is officially underway, and once again the App State Football program has plenty of alums shining on Sundays.
Six App State Football alums played in NFL games this past weekend, including Sam Martin, who is starting his 14th season. He is now just nine games away from becoming just the second App State alum ever to reach 200+ NFL games.
Playing with the Carolina Panthers for the first time, Martin had two punts, both of which landed inside the 20, for an average of 43.0 yards.
Akeem Davis-Gaither also started with a new squad, racking up seven tackles in the Cardinals’ win over the Saints. Nick Hampton (Rams) had a tackle, while Ryan Neuzil (Falcons), D’Marco Jackson (Bears) and Kendall Lamm (Dolphins) all got time in their respective games.

🔼 Four Of A Kind. For the first time since 2019, the App State Field Hockey team is 4-0 after their 6-0 defeat of Queens on Tuesday afternoon.
Sophia Baxter, Bridget Donovan, Hadley Kuzmicky, Baylie Phillips and Henriette Stegen all scored, pushing the Mountaineers' win streak to four to begin the season.
Lise Boekaar was once again a force with the ball, tallying three assists in the game and setting up her teammates in scoring positions.
Earlier in the day, Baxter was named MAC Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts in App State’s win over Davidson.
🔼 The Road Ahead. After getting off to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2019, App State Football is set to hit the road for its Sun Belt opener this weekend at Southern Miss.
App State is one of two Sun Belt teams sitting at 2-0 heading into Week 3.
Southern Miss is 1-1 after dropping a 34-17 decision to Mississippi State and rolling past Jackson State, 38-20.

Our radio crew brings you the highlights and analysis from the win over Lindenwood, plus interviews with Dowell Loggains, Thomas Davis and Dylan Manuel in the latest edition of The Black & Gold Rewind.

As we mentioned, Sam Martin is just nine games away from reaching 200 NFL appearances.
