🔼 Treasure Hunting. A rivalry that started nearly a century ago adds another chapter tomorrow in Greenville as App State Football is set to battle East Carolina for the 35th time in program history.
The Mountaineers enter with plenty of momentum after an impressive 55-3 victory over Maine in the season opener, piling up 647 yards of offense, while allowing just 250.
App State will be looking for its fourth straight victory over the Pirates, a streak that dates back to 2021. The Mountaineers lead the overall head-to-head series with a 22-12 advantage.
🔼 Early And Often. Freshman Chloe Hook scored just 44 seconds into her first career start to lift the App State field hockey team to a 6-1 home victory over Queens on Wednesday.
Hook's game-winner set the tone for a game of milestones, as she netted a pair of goals to extend her goal-scoring streak to four consecutive games.
App State, which moved to 4-1 on the year, dominated the attack throughout the contest, outshooting the Royals 22-8.
Up next for the Mountaineers, a home Sunday date with #6 Wake Forest.
🔼 Seventh Heaven. App State Soccer jumped out to an early lead and clamped down defensively late to secure a 2-0 victory at ETSU in the final match of non-conference play on Thursday.
With the win, App State, which is now 5-1-2 this fall, extended its unbeaten streak to seven consecutive matches, tying the longest unbeaten streak in program history – accomplished in 2005 and 2007.
🔼 Touted Trio. The season may still be over 50 days away, but the preseason praise has already started to roll in for App State Wrestling.
Stephan Monchery (16th - HW), Tomas Brooker (23rd - 184) and Aldo Hernandez (23rd - 141) all garnered spots in the top-25.
