🟡 And much more!

🔼 Hittin’ The Road. A month into the 2025-26 athletic calendar, the Mountaineers are a combined 16-3 across all sports.
That will be challenged this weekend as five App State programs hit the road.
The 6-0 volleyball squad gets things started when the Mountaineers battle unbeaten Michigan State this afternoon at Kennesaw State. On Saturday, they will square off with the home team (which is 4-1) to round out their weekend slate.
Tonight, the unbeaten field hockey team faces its toughest test to date when it travels to Chapel Hill to take on #2 UNC.
This morning, the cross country squads face a loaded field at the Virginia Invitational in Charlottesville, Va.
Tomorrow, conference play kicks off for both soccer (at Old Dominion) and football (at Southern Miss).

🔼 Preseason Praise. We are less than two months away from App State Wrestling returning to the mats.
Two Mountaineers will do so with preseason rankings next to their name as Tomas Brooker (#28 at 184 pounds) and Stephan Monchery (#33 at heavyweight) were both recognized in the InterMat National Preseason rankings.

🔼 History Makers. Now that’s one way to start a season.
App State Women’s Golf packed a lot of history into its fall debut.
The Mountaineers posted three of the six best team rounds in program history over 54 holes at the GolfWeek Fall Challenge while recording two individual rounds in the 60s, three under-par rounds and five rounds of par or better on the par-71 layout.
App State placed 10th in a deep 20-team field, three strokes behind sixth place. Salem Lee and true freshman Zoe Duval tied for 21st with 4-over totals Tuesday, and Ona Lukes tied for 35th at 6 over.

This week’s Nothin’ But An App State Podcast features interviews with DL Rondo Porter form the football team and middle blocker Lou Johnson from the volleyball team.

Last weekend, graduate student Izzi Wood scored two goals in the second half to help App State Soccer to a 3-2 comeback win over Longwood. Wood moved herself into second place on the App State scoring list with 28 goals in her career.
Which Mountaineer soccer alum currently holds the scoring record?
