🟡 And much more!
🔼 Rising Up. The strong start to the App State Women’s Golf season continued this week as the Mountaineers set or tied program records in four categories en route to a third place finish at the 14-team Elon Invitational.
Freshman lefty Zoe Duval, who used an eagle on the par-5 17th hole to hold the lead with eight holes to play, finished one stroke behind the individual medalist to tie for second place.
App State tied Radford for third-place in the team standings, finishing eight shots behind co-champions Elon and James Madison.
App State set program records for lowest 18-hole team score, lowest 54-hole team score and lowest 54-hole individual score while matching the lowest 18-hole individual score that was set eight days earlier.

🔼 Poll Position. After back-to-back top-3 finishes to open the 2025 season, the App State Men’s Cross Country squad rose to #12 in the NCAA Southeast region in the latest USTFCCCA rankings released this week.
The Mountaineers are coming off a third-place finish in a loaded field at the Virginia Invitational last weekend.
Up next is the final home meet of the season, the Firetower Project Run on Friday, Oct. 3.
The men’s team ranks 1️⃣2️⃣th in the NCAA Southeast Region!

🔼 Turning Heads. Playing with a new uniform for the first time in his six-year NFL career, App State alum Akeem Davis-Gaither is giving his new squad quite a first impression.
Davis-Gaither has racked up 13 tackles, including one tackle for a loss, for the Arizona Cardinals, who are off to a 2-0 start to the 2025 season.
Dating back to December of last year with the Bengals, Davis-Gaither has tallied six or more tackles in eight straight outings.

Nothing like the flare for the dramatic, huh?
In Saturday’s draw at Old Dominion, Kyli Switalski found the back of the net in the 86th minute to earn a point for the Mountaineers.
During the Coach Haywood era of App State Soccer, how many times have the Mountaineers scored the game-tying or game-winning goal in the final 10 minutes of a match?
Got a guess?
