⚾️ On The Move
🟡 And much more

Throughout the summer, we have been counting down the days
to the return of App State Football. The Mountaineers are just days
awaiting from hosting Maine on September 5 at 3:30 p.m.

1️⃣ Day Away. It’s almost time. We are now approaching just over 24 hours from kickoff.

Three times throughout program history, App State Football has ended a season at #1️⃣.

The Mountineers put together one of the greatest runs in FCS history by winning three consecutive national championships from 2005-07 under head coach Jerry Moore. The Mountaineers captured their first title in 2005 with a dramatic 21-16 victory over Northern Iowa. A year later, App State went 14-1 and repeated as champion with a 28-17 win over Massachusetts, becoming the first repeat FCS champion since Georgia Southern in 2000.

The Mountaineers completed the historic three-peat in 2007 by defeaing Delaware 49-21 in the national championship game in Chattanooga.

The victory made Appalachian State the first program in FCS history to win three consecutive national championships and the first Division I football program to accomplish a three-peat since Army from 1944-46.

The long offseason is finally over and the App State football team plays at The Rock on Saturday against Maine.

Bret and Adam break down the matchup and chat with new tight end Darrin Fugitt about his transition to Boone, married life, his amazing movie rating system, and what he expects from this year's offense.

🔼 Tomorrow, Tomorrow. A new season kicks off at The Rock TOMORROW as App State welcomes Maine to Kidd Brewer Stadium for a 3:30 p.m. season opener.

The Mountaineers begin year two under head coach Dowell Loggains with a revamped roster featuring 73 newcomers and a signing class rated as the best in both App State and Sun Belt history.

App State will look to start the new campaign on the right foot in front of another packed crowd in Boone with Saturday’s game being a Gold Out at Kidd Brewer.

🔼 Finishing Strong. The App State field hockey team used a strong fourth quarter to pass its first road test of the season on Wednesday, shutting out in-state foe Davidson, 2-0.

Brynn Shaffer and Chloe Hook both scored goals in the final quarter of the contest to secure the victory.

Goalkeeper Dakota Anderson, the reigning MAC Goalkeeper of the Week, anchored the defensive effort in her third start of the season. She registered six saves to record her second shutout of the year.

🔼 Point Secured. And the streak continues.

Behind a first half brace from sophomore forward Libby Bermingham, App State Soccer battled Miami to a 2-2 draw on Thursday night in Coral Gables, extending its unbeaten streak to six in a row.

App State has not dropped a match since opening night, matching a six-game unbeaten streak in 2024 as the longest since 2007.

🔼 On The Move. After posting back-to-back months with a batting average over .320, App State Baseball product Austin St. Laurent is on the move.

This week, St. Laurent earned a promotion to the Arkansas Travelers, the Double-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

In August, St. Laurent put together a month that saw him hit .342, drive in 15 RBIs, score 14 runs and post an on-base percentage of .435.

Tomorrow, App State will be looking to make it five victories in the past six home openers at The Rock.

What is the Mountaineers’ average points scored in the past five home openers?
